We can provided individual service to haul aggregates for customers, trenching for new services, concrete removal and replacement, wall construction and repair, finish carpentry work, and emergency repair work. We can be your sole facility maintenance contact or a compliment to your already capable maintenance staff.
As a General Contractor we primarily focus on the construction of buildings, but in recent years, we have had the need to demolish a building, or portions of a building, to begin a new project. This need for demolition work has resulted in the modification of our excavator with the installation of a hydraulic 'grapple' and the purchase of several walking floor trailers. The 'grapple' allows us to perform precise demolition and placement of the building debris into the walking trailers for transport to the landfill. Three walking trailers provide us non-stop loading of the debris to clear the site in a timely manner. Once the building and foundation has been removed, our drivers switch to the tri-axle dump truck and dump trailers to bring in the required fill to level off the site and if required, prepare it for seeding. The equipment modifications and purchases made, opened up a new avenue of business for McCormick Structural Systems, Inc. We have recently become a main demolition contractor for the City of Erie securing several contracts for multiple residential demolitions.
While the majority of the demolition work has been residential, we have done commercial buildings and demolished structures of wood, steel, and masonry construction. To reduce the cost of the demolition work, we obtained permits to transport material to any of several landfills available in the tri-state region.
Having several semi-tractors allows us the flexibility of adding trucks to help expedite any one or multiple projects. Changing to the walking floor trailer, dump trailer, or flat bed, we can haul debris away, haul materials in, or transport equipment as required. This is another area of service we can provide.
